STEM 2022 is an initiative of Hunter Academy of STEM Excellence based at Maitland Grossmann High School. The conference is supported by the NSW Department of Education’s STEM Industry School Partnerships program, and brings together leading experts in STEM education, innovation and creativity.
The STEM 2022 live, in-person conference will be held on Monday 18th July 2022 (Term 3 Staff Development Day), at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley.
STEM 2022 will feature inspirational keynote addresses from the likes of Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Amy Cutter-Mackenzie-Knowles, Executive Dean – Faculty of Education, Southern Cross University and Nathan Towney, Pro Vice-Chancellor – Indigenous Strategy and Leadership at the University of Newcastle.
Numerous deep dive workshops will be delivered by renowned STEM and education experts and there will be plenty of opportunities for professional networking during and after the conference.

STEM 2022 Deep Dives
STEM 2022 Deep Dive workshops go beyond content knowledge and emphasize skill development in a range of STEM areas. These could include skills in leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, or the use of technology.
Curriculum deep dives will look at the development of rich teaching and learning programs or practical skill development in STEM-based subjects. The extended nature of the workshops allows the participants to develop a deep understanding or knowledge of the topic being presented.
